Fan/Fail

 my current soundtrack:

here is our first fan/fail post! a quick list of things we are fans of and some fails of the week too.

Fan:
that sun though, looking real good spokane.

urban farming initiative! spokane could join the ranks of seattle and portland to allow some urban farming. with the intent that it will make our city more walkable and allow folks to sell their goods for extra local income.
read about it herehttp://www.inlander.com/Bloglander/archives/2014/03/06/stuckart-proposes-new-urban-agriculture-rules

new crowdswell project! its a local website to identify problems in our community (i.e. broken bench outside of runner's soul) and provide a means to raise money and fix the issues. similar to kickstarter, but on a community level.
read about it here: http://www.spokesman.com/stories/2014/mar/05/crowdswell-aims-to-help-community-complete/

perry st brewery opens TODAY! we are excited to check it out very soon. the menu looks tasty and you cant go too wrong with locally crafted beer. we are big fans of the perry district to say the least.

spokane arts is looking for artists to submit proposals for new murals downtown! i love our downtown murals! looking forward to seeing more murals around. materials provided and artist/artist teams will be compensated for their work. good job spokane!
details can be found herehttps://www.callforentry.org/festivals_unique_info.php?ID=1851&sortby=fair_name&apply=yes

Fail:

the SUV that almost knocked me off my bike on my ride to work! AND she had no idea. sometimes bike commuting is terrifying in this town!

honestly its been such a good week that that is the only fail that comes to mind! no complaints about that.

thanks for stopping by again! mr. man is on for the next post, so stay tuned for his subtle humor and tasteful commentary.

cheers,

here goes nothing

one of my favorite buildings in spokane
early signs of spring
our first attempt at gardening last spring, we have LOTS to learn
obsessed with this little guy

well folks, we decided to start a blog. here you will find musings about spokane and the things we love about it. i suppose a blog about falling in love with our city is accountability to do just that. mr man had this idea and i loved it. he is a real idea man, one of the many things i love about him. he works in design, i work in non-profits and we make a pretty great team, if i do say so myself. but this blog isn't about us, hence the "pen names". we want to showcase our city, not ourselves. and we want to invite you to join our journey to find spokane. cheers to a vibrant community in spokane and here's to hoping that this blog will play a small part in creating that here. life is good. thanks for stopping by, we hope you will come again.
